Very Expensive Internet Marketing Mistakes

One of the most difficult times in your internet marketing life can be the beginning. It can seem utterly confusing and certainly overwhelming at times. Then it seems, and is, you’re devoting almost all your free time reading, hoping, dreaming, and ‘working’ on your business. We won’t mention (no) money from it. So many people spend months and months, sometimes years, with little more to show for their efforts than more bills. If a person already has money problems, the results can be even worse. A very common reason is people listen to and believe a lot of what the so-called “Gurus” have to say – that it’s all so easy. People think the big money can be made almost overnight and with hardly any effort.

This is not truth. Naturally a lot of stories about online marketing millionaires are true. There are lots of them. But you may not know all they went through to get to that point. Years of learning, trying and taking action, and hard work. If you get stuck in the information loophole, you will only be reading, learning but aiming for nothing. And that is why it is critical that you are realistic. Set attainable goals, do the hard work, and you’ll be way out ahead of so many others. The same rules apply for success whether you’re online, or offline. Ok, let’s talk about some of the commonly seen big blunders many beginners make in IM.

A common mistake made by the majority of online marketers is they fail to build a targeted list of subscribers or prospects. Having an online business for years without building a list of subscribers and prospects is not building a business for long-term success. One of your priorities is to start creating a marketing list for email marketing. If you do, you’ll have the ability to make lots more money. You can make more sales from preselling your offers, there are sales on the back end, and there are sales to repeat customers.

Another pitfall that’s easy to make when starting out with internet marketing –information overload that comes from getting on lots of internet marketing email lists and getting lots of conflicting information. This results in a feeling of confusion and not knowing what to do next. What happens then is that one’s inbox gets overloaded with lots of different plans, each pointing in a slightly different direction. This makes any kind of real action difficult, as you don’t know whose advice to take first. The way to remedy this is to cut back on the number of subscriptions you get; choose only the ones that you find especially helpful or inspiring. It’s important to shift your focus from collecting information to taking action on a few realistic plans. Taking action is the key to gaining more confidence. Everyone fails some of the time; the trick is to persevere until you finally succeed.

Overall, if you’re planning to succeed with Internet marketing then make sure your plan is rock solid. You’ll never win if you don’t plan, or if your plan is not thorough. So just create achievable goals. Then put them on paper. And then take massive action, one goal at a time.

This uses the 'early Simpsons' voices; the kids are almost unrecognizable, compared to the modern voices, and Homer's voice is much deeper/lower. Clearly annoying to adults (and meant to be), after the first couple of run-throughs. Only give this to your little one, if you're a masochist or to get back at an ex-spouse. Perfect for your worst enemy's kid...
