Selecting the Best Way to Eradicate Rats
Rats can cause a lot of woes for a household. These creatures are identified to be carriers of fatal diseases. Furthermore, rats can chew through anything that they could get their teeth into, creating ruin to structures and personal property. To stop rats from infesting your home, you can select one of many pest control methods that are guaranteed to get rid of rats.
You can use electronic measures for removing them from your residence. These methods make use of sounds of high frequency emitted by ultrasonic machines that can repel the rats. Neither human beings nor household pets can hear these sounds and they are thus safe for use in houses.
Organic rat repellents are also good solutions for successful elimination of rats. This technique uses small pellets or tablets of chemicals that let out smell of predatory creatures that feed on rodents, thereby chasing them away. They can be scattered across the house, in the backyard, garage and all other places that are frequented by rats.
Moth balls can also be used to repel rats as the strong odour that they emit drives rats away from your residence. They are extremely effective if kept in moist and dark corners of the residence, which are likely to be frequented by the rats.
Using mechanical traps, commonly called wooden snap traps, is a way of rat elimination that is still quite well known. They are not only cheap and simple to use, but are also highly efficacious if laid with the right bait. They should be kept away from children and household pets as they can cause injuries. One problem with these traps is that they can trap only one rat at a time. Though, the advantage of this method is that it is not harmful like chemical pesticides.
Glue boards are used to ensnare rats alive. These are usually made of cardboard or wood, and their surface is smeared with sticky glue. You can put bread crumbs on the board that can act as bait for rats. When a rat scampers across the board for the bait, it gets stuck and eventually dies from either starvation or suffocation.
