social networking – Marketing Strategies on the Top Social Network

MySpace, Friendster, Multiply, Facebook, Twitter – all these are social networking sites. However, among all of them, one site stands out when it comes to marketing and that is Facebook.

Facebook has revolutionized the way companies endorse their products and make themselves known. After all, if you own a company, you would definitely want to be seen every single day by tens of millions of people around the world.

That is what Facebook does – it gives the company an audience. There are various ways on how a company can benefit from Facebook and here are the two simplest and most common of them all.

The first way on how you could make your company known in Facebook is by purchasing a slot in the right hand corner of the page. Here, there are various companies advertising for different groups of people. You need not worry about the audience since you have the option to select your age, gender, and geographic location preferences to suit your specific need.

The next option to create a buzz in Facebook is by setting up a fan page. A fan page is much like a personal profile but instead of adding friends into your list, you are adding fans. This one usually comes free but it takes quite a while for you to have fans, though. You could start by inviting people who might be interested with your product or services or you could ask your friends to advertise for you.

Perhaps the most effective way of advertising in Facebook is by doing both – create a fan page and have it listed in the advertisement. That is basically hitting two birds with one stone, don’t you think?
